a lot of banks have a mobile app that you can scan the check and it will automatically deposit it from the convenience of your home. I do that when I get checks. Possibly your bank will have this feature? I think it is becoming more common.

sorry I commented too soon, you carry all that cash in your wallet? My dad has a similar system with envelopes but he keeps in his house for bills but I always ask him what if there's a fire or he gets robbed and loses it? Wouldn't it be better to deposit in bank account, maybe earn a bit of interest and just pay bills electronically or direct debit from account? Just thinking it may be much safer.
