Editors - Ed on Radcliffe and Maconie March 2016

Here's a little bit of In Dream promotion courtesy of the man with the sticks. Mr Lay appeared on 6 Music's Radcliffe and Maconie show during March of 2016 as part of their Music News segment. There's something very jarring about listening to this brief chat being prefaced with a mention of "the mood in The Editors' camp after parting company with their original guitarist, Chris". Let me put this into some kind of perspective for you.
At the time it aired Chris had been an Ex-Editor for a full 4 years. In that time he acted as a producer and musician for The Spectors (and friend to a very famous doodle), while Editors released 2 albums. In terms of the current concerns surrounding this band, at least one of my questions would have been "How's Tom doing?". Considering the gravity of his illness at the time and all the plans that fell as a result of it, it would have been nice to find out how he was progressing. Not the specifics, because that's none of our business, just a general overview. Instead, Ed gets a question that the band have answered ad nauseam since 2012 and one which, to me anyway, doesn't carry nearly the same amount of relevancy that it once did (and that's no disrespect to Mr Urbanowicz, who's playing I miss terribly). I know this was only a small feature on a bigger radio show but it feels like a missed opportunity. Still, you can make up your own mind by listening here.
brought to you with lots and lots of lemming-love :) x
