There's more than one way to lose weight. How does the director of a weight loss clinic decide the best path for each patient?

Dr. Sandra Palavecino encounters this decision every day. And although she can choose from medications, surgery, and calorie restriction, she frequently chooses low-carb diets as her first approach.

Wow, she is great. Thanks. I am on Keto and it has helped with diabetes and weight loss. The biggest result for me is the lack of hunger. It is freeing. Before it was will power needed all the time as I was always hungry. I have lost 27# but waist measurement has not changed and it is 39”. I am female and 78 years old. Went from three meds to one. Freeing!

I have been SO pleased with Dr. P’s practice. It’s comforting to know that there are clinicians in my small hometown who understand metabolic health. I truly feel that mainstream health needs to pay attention and trust this!!

I have lost 60 pounds on a low-carb diet and my husband followed me on the same plan! However, he is a type one diabetic! We were so scared to go against the Diabetic Association‘s advice and the Heart Association‘s advice! I would have loved to have had an enthusiastic Dr walking us through the process! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I wish we were closer to Connecticut LOL Mil Gracias!

I’m born, raised and live in South Louisiana where we live to eat, drink and love life but I managed to lose 85 pounds. I now eat to live and I’m loving life more than ever. It’s possible.

This off topic, but I love her genuine enthusiasm without any self-righteous indignation, which facilitates true openness. That’s something that I generally see more of in people raised in other cultures. I wish there was more of that in the West.

I wish every doctor was like her I think the key to making keto work is understanding your hunger and to be aware of how it changes as you go through the process fantastic show

I enjoyed this podcast very much. I'm an OTR truck driver. I've been doing carnivore for one year. I find it very easy to manage while on the road. I would be very happy to share my methods and results and I do speak Spanish as my second language.

Would love to hear someone talk about the effects of pain and poor quality sleep (not sleep apnea) on hunger and weight gain. And what to do about them.

I had more success getting patients to stop smoking than getting patients to lose weight!

I sometimes wonder if the last few pounds is psychological. Fear of defining ourselves as different from how others want us to stay. I wonder.
