Oooosh. I'm with Maddie. Swells + no wind is the worst.
I remember a cruise off the coast of Ft. sailing along happy as clams when the wind died but the swell kept up. Engines wouldn't start. We were the proverbial bobbing cork. In about 10 minutes nearly all hands were heads down in buckets or over the rail. I could just barely keep it together if I stayed on deck eyes to the horizon. I tried to get at the engine but getting below and looking down at the engine I quickly got so woozy I was useless. Eventually the swell died and we got the engine going. We shot back into port as quick as possible. No one was too anxious to join us for a sailing cruise for a while. Seemed like we were being tortured for hours, but it really was more like 90 minutes.
The other thing that struck me was that as soon as we entered the channel and the water went dead flat, the sickness disappeared in just a couple minutes, even for the sickest of the bunch.

Enjoyed the ride/sail. I'm on the hard for a bottom job fix and paint. Y'all be careful coming across the pond. There still bad storms forming off the coast of Africa. We have one in the Gulf of Mexico now, or at last check.🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤🇺🇸⛵⚓

The only time I've experienced seasickness in the 13 days of owning my boat was at dock with 30- 40 knot winds from the south creating 2 foot chop in the marina. My uncle on the other hand shared your problem. As long as the boat was moving he was fine. As soon as we stopped to do some flounder fishing, he was off the fly bridge and hanging over the rail chumming for fish.

SpagettiO’s and Spam.... sailing survival food...had to look up the spelling in that one! Always enjoy your videos and showing the sail setup was interesting as always. As I am new to sailing and on Lake Erie I have a long offseason for reading and learning.

Keep in mind... wind to your back, looking over your right shoulder points to the center of the high PS, over your left is the low (unless your an owl). barometer tells the rest. Them clouds or lack there of help too. I just had to poke. LOL

I just bought a hanked on jib with 2 reefing points, I've always used a downhaul on the jib but I've never thought about a 1st or 2nd reef tack line back to the cockpit! Im going to try that for sure thanks for sharing.

For seasickness: Stugeron is the off shore sailors best friend. No side affects. It just works! Can be purchased in most "Comonwealth" countries.

Maybe the Caribbean will be open by the time you get back. Then maybe a trip thru the Panama Canal and across the pacific?

Oh to be sailing with no wind. I think I have heard that before. At least it's not a force 10 blow. Wait a bit the wind will come back, I'd bet on it.

Another great video. Love the Wooster T. and the hair. Always learn something in your video. I know it is July, but when do you think you will be in Florida, or maybe you are here?
