I can't imagine Trump making such a speech.

It's refreshing to see a reminder that not all is lost. We all seem to take for granted just how good we have it, but at least some of us know to be grateful for how much we owe to so many.

So very proud of America and what we accomplished during WWII. All those that fought like my father and how my Mother and friends traveled over 1000 miles to work in a factory to help the war effort and grandparents all had victory gardens and sacrificed. I wished we'd all pull together just a little bit today. Bravo Biden!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Mr. President. You are a true American leader. Thank you so much for your guiding light. Best to your family too. Hunter is in my heart today.

Thursday, June 6, is the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the allied invasion of France to defeat Nazism. Very few veterans survive, but I was in Normandy for the 50th year observance, travelling with veteran paratroopers on D-Day Eve.
I was supposed to witness airborne veterans parachuting from a vintage aircraft into a VIP area, but I decided to leave my space to a veteran, so I walked into Ste Mere-Eglise, the first French town liberated by our paratroopers, to wait for the parade- the ceremonial re-enactment of the battle- to assemble in the church square where the carnival of American television- Bryant Gumbel and Joan Lunden- were all broadcasting to the US and the world.
As I moved through the mass of people to photograph the parade, I was overtaken by a surging throng screaming “Vivre Americain! Merci Americain!.” I kept saying, “Je ne suis pas une veteran!” but it didn’t matter. They wanted to physically embrace Americans today. I have photos of the parade.
A line of mounted Gendarmerie cleared the path. The 68-year-old airborne veterans who had jumped again raised beer cans and cheered. Then- future Chairman JCoS General Hugh Shelton led combat-ready detachments of contemporary American paratroopers, fresh from the fight against Iraq.
The victors of Desert Storm saluted the victors of Normandy with a triumph that would have paled Ceasar. The best light infantry of any army, anywhere, at any time in history, were feted by thousands of grateful, free people from around the world, their clamor to render all honors and glory to the airborne forces of the United States.

Another awesome speech by President Joe Biden. He’s not old and gray, he’s mature.
Unlike the pretender, who is stupid, and in a way, so much older.
Vote Blue ☑💙.

Listening to President Biden stirred up my pride in the basic goodness of my fellow humans. That’s how an American president should represent us to the world. Biden, being a decent human, reflects our own decency back to us and the world. Goodness and decency will prevail in the end. I ♥️President Biden. Thank you, veterans.🇺🇸 Thank you.

How can any sane person watch that speech, yet think President Biden isn't capable of four more years. It was outstanding. TFG could never give such a passionate speech that wasn't about him.
Thank you President Biden and Jill Biden for making up for the stench that TFG, and his "mail order" bride left behind when they visited the region.

Great speech from Biden. Trump could have never talked that long without making it about himself. One of my favorite things about Pres Biden is that he isn't in pictures or videos, nor was he friends with Jeffery Sad.

I camped out on the beach at Normandy in 1961 in a pup tent with my family as an Army brat at 11 years old. Looking up at the huge bunkers was incredibly frightening. It's why I am such a history nerd! We are a race of warriors for freedom! All of us!
