Machine Learning App Examples

Machine Learning powers almost every internet service we use these days, but it's rare to find a full pipeline example of machine learning being deployed in a web app. In this episode, I'd like to present 5 full-stack machine learning demos submitted as midterm projects from the students of my current course. The midterm assignment was to create a paid machine learning web app, and after receiving countless incredible submissions, I've decided to share my favorite 5 publicly. I was surprised by how many students in the course had never coded before and to see them building a full-stack web app in a few weeks was a very fulfilling experience. Use these examples as a template to help you ideate on potential business ideas to make a positive impact in the world using machine learning. And if you'd like, be sure to reach out and support each of the students I've demoed here today in any way can you offer. They've been working their butts off. Enjoy!

Presentation notebook:

Example 1 (Medicine): Dermatitis Detection

Example 2 (Entertainment): Script Generator

Example 3 (Finance): Price Prediction

Example 4 (Recruiting): Resume Scanner

Example 5 (Security): Threat Detection

Three lessons I learned with Siraj:

1. Over-enthusiastic and charismatic people that project an almost genuine sense of trustworthiness can be deeply corrupted and very good deceivers.

2. People who are anxious for attention can commit absurdly evident and bizarre cheating, even when they are at the spotlight! -Like plagiarize 90% of a scientific paper and clumsily paraphrase the other %10 so "no one would notice".

3. You do require a profound academic understanding to do deep-learning. Gurus don't exist.

I'm just here to throw a dislike.

Just come here for the controversy and reading comments 😂

I always wondered why I had a hard time understanding sirajs' content compared to other ML teachers. Well now I know that he is basically a fraud and cannot explain it because he has no idea what he is talking about.

Be a man Siraj ! You owe an apology in order to move on. Be honest and come clean as the damage is already done.

Just make an exclusive video and apologize for your mistakes!
Everyone would have made an apology video accepting their mistakes if they were you I cannot believe you're still doing this and ignoring everything that happened! Have some respect for your subscribers!

The way he's ignoring the backlash, next video title ought to be 'Shameless'.

You see. Pointing out a cool project is nice, that's why I watch your videos. Ignoring the sources makes the content less rich, since, I could learn more by visiting the source. It doesn't mean that I will appreciate your effort in putting them together any less. When that paper on quantum neural net. was presented, it felt like quite a flex, and I felt that my intelligence was insulted. It would be really nice if you acknowledge what happened. But this, is just shameless. I am disliking the video in defiance, not because of the content that was presented, but because of the content that was expected.

at 16:30, Dude wtf. Create a class for Users? This is a database model. Not an object-oriented approach to solve a problem. This class is later taken by the ORM to build SQL statements. Come on machine learning gurus must know this at least.
