Alright, I now what you're thinking. Put this in the slicer and chop the sample till it's something now, like how Dilla did but why overcomplicate things when you have the basis of your beat at the first six seconds I built a whole beat around just that. You pitch the track up by two semitones. then you just loop the first 7 and a half seconds as thats when the bar ends. Then to sort of create a new melody by arranging notes together that are reshaped and pitched you just loop that again but now you pitch it down by 1 and a half semitones at least I think, idk really because my software wouldn't tell me the exact pitch from the original. Now the loop starts with the same melody and then the melody is sort of reshaped and redirected if you could say by just pitching the notes the same notes of the first chop but when arranged after the first chop the second chop (which is just a repitched version of the first chop) is creating a new melodic context a new melody sort of or atleast the shape of the melody is changed. To further manipulate it, load the manipulated sample into an equaliser and isolate the lows and layer that onto the main loop for a low end. Then if you want some orginality do what i did and guess the new notes of the sample and built a chilling bassline around that and I correctly guessed those notes at least mostly maybe off by like 0.1 or 0.05 of a semitone but that creates a unique sound just make sure it's not too far off the pitch. And then I added a guitar riff of the same notes in the same key of the sample just a simple melody for the hook but it's catchy and almost disturbing like that dark brutal, cold sample and then you add the drums. Now the drums you can go with hard hitting obnoxious sounding drums to go with the laid back and almost flowing dynamic of the sample so it creates an artistic contrast like wu tang style drums, like RZA loud powerful drums like I did or you can use the drums to just guide the sample with a few kicks and not too sharp or attention drawing snares. Then you have a beat.

That's my beat. You may not like it but that's okay I'm not some great producer anyway.
