40 yrs old and NEVER listened to R&B. I discovered Brent maybe 6 months ago and I DEFINITELY listen to his R&B now. Still no other R&B though. The first time I heard him I was like “hold up.” Brent definitely has something different. I can feel the realness in his songs. I wish him the BEST in his journey.

Yall really don't know what she's talking about??? People see him as a bridge between old school pretty boy r&b and today's rap (drill, street, luxury, etc). The gentle she is speaking of is the way a woman feels in your presence, and a lot of today's youngins are on go...on demon time, etc and don't want to be smooth like the old school r&b it's looked at as soft. But his music is accepted by people on that type of time...and as you can hear, his music isn't just party music it's a vibe. So what she is saying his music isn't making them turn up even more, it is cooling them down. Giving them a different perspective than just catch wreck. I'm sure ladies appreciate that.
