In Switzerland, capitalism is booming, one of the reasons is perhaps that the politicians are part-time employees and are subject to accountability in relation to what can be collected in taxes to the state and how much can be taken into debt. In addition, Switzerland has a decentralized local democracy that allows for spontaneous political experiments and motivates the incentive of politicians and citizens. The problem in the US is a lack of accountability and incentive on the part of voters and politicians to clean up.
