did you take any equity loan out of the current house to fund the new purchase?

Eok is so far away from the mrt station. For those who want to buy for their own stay, it is inconvenient. Also, for future tenants, they would prefer to rent a place near or door step to the mrt. The price for a leasehold property is expensive.
I think Chuan Park condo is a better place for own stay, and price is reasonable. Door step to Circle line mrt.

The way both of you played this game. Better pray that any one of you stay employed at any time or else you will know what will happen.

I don't see how being so far from MRT, amenities warranted such demand, unless you have parents/siblings already living in the neighbourhood. Nonetheless, if rates stays flat at least until TOP, you'll still likely be positive on this investment, just like most are new launch investments in recent years. Just hope you don't get caught out at the peak, given how far short of the financing requirements your wife is for this 2.4M buy. The fact that banks are willing to do this shows something about the market. Froth.

If you think seasoned property investors who have been successful with setting up an empire uses the techniques you have just mentioned in order to pull funds together, you are dead wrong friend. Try to do some reading up on really successful investors who has created huge Real Estate companies. My advice is, be very, very careful with what you owe to the banks.
