I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I've qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

I bought a few packs of the Twitch Tail Minnow a while back just to use on a Hover Rig. I've gotten to where I look at plastics just for the purpose of whether I can fish it on a Hover Rig or not.

I'm very glad to hear that you are developing smaller weights & hooks for Crappie Fishing. It is Very Much Needed.

I've been waiting for you to come out with more traditional smaller size hooks. Glad to see it finally happening 👍🏼

Matt if you jave any of the old havoc craw fattys laying around try those on the hover rig. The glide is amazing.

Matt how are you hover rigging the gilly? Saw it as the thumb photo for a previous video. I think I know how but would love to see you demonstrate it.

Thanks Matt for that information!!! Very useful!! I can see how much better the size 1 would be on those smaller baits than a 1/0. Order time!!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!

Yes a size #1 nice job I like that one on 2.5 small plastic.

Same here in Australia with guys using big hooks. They use 1/0 or bigger for the 3" slimswimz. I find the size 1 much better as being shorter it allows a much better tail action.

Matt: Just got the 1/32 and 1/16 oz. Hover rigs. I have some Berkley 3.6 inch flatworms but these are also going to kill it on my ZOOM 4" Meatheads! Most finesse fisherman don't know about these. I actually still have some in colors that aren't even made anymore! They have somehow got lost in the shuffle of new plastics, which was O.K. for me because I catch fish on a split shot rig using these when others aren't catching anything. Their swimming action is almost unbelievable. I almost hate to give away my secret here, but here it is.

Due to the fishing conditions on the pond I fish 95% of the time, I haven't bought any Hover rigs yet. When the smaller ones come out, I definitely will! I think I will try the 1's. Thank you for your informative videos!

I haven’t gotten past the 1/0 with the 4in pit boss yet. It’s working well. I love this rig and can’t wait to try other soft plastics and the various weights.

still like the max sent hit worm but i was using a 3" Kitech easy shiner on the 3/64 oz the other day and they were burning it up.

I went to core tackle's site and I bought 4 packs of each size and I am glad that I did! I now look at my soft baits and I can select the size that I think will work best with these! Thanks Matt for these jigs and when you come out with other sizes I will be adding these to my box! Oh yea I have some of the Tush jigs too!! Awesome stuff!!

A bigger one for rigging a beaver baits backwards on a hover rig would be awesome to glide them under docks and overhangs

Hey Matt, I took my 7 y/o nephew out bass fishing for the first time. He caught quite a few dinks but also an almost 2 pound bass on the hover rig. Thanks for making this available to all of us. It is really something special. Is there a way to make this weedless is my only question ?

Hello Matt, once again great video and Love the Hover Rig. Problem is which bait to use? I am fishing a two day this fall and going to have two rods with the 3/64 and one with the 1/8-3/0 Hover Rig with 3 inch Berkley Pit Boss. I don't know which baits to put on the 3/64 rods. Any information would be helpful. Keep up the great work.
