Why I switched from MavicAir to Air2S

The original Mavic Air is really great. So is it worth upgrading to the Air2S?

As an air2s user, I agree 100%. Bloody beast for its size. I would have gone for the magic 3 base model but I instead bought the air2s and used the rest of the money and got 20 whole batteries and now I can fly longer than I ever needed to be. Fantastic drone. Now all we need from dji is to give us compatibility with their goggles and it will be a solid drone for eons to come.

Both drones are great in its category . You could still use Mavic Air as a back up.

Sad you left me with the air 😢. Just kidding! Dope video! I am not traveling enough right now but I will definitely upgrade when the time comes. Biggest thing I don’t like with the Air is the signal😅 it looses connection so often!

10 bit is enough reason to get it if you're flow is already in 10 bit. 😎

"Ten bit" is mostly marketing, and improvements in imaging often have to do with better processing, occasionally a better sensor. First off, nearly every screen connected to computers around this world cannot actually display the number of colors that 10 bits (per color channel, say 10 for each R, G, B) allow. That's right - your computer screen probably cannot actually display 1024*1024*1024 possible colors. (Google the gamut limitations of displays.) If one is seeing improvement in the end product using this "ten bit" camera then what one is seeing, especially if one is speaking of shadows, is less color noise in the darks.

Secondly: the number of bits per color channel, of meaningful information, is limited by the signal/noise ratio at each pixel in the camera. Larger wells for a pixel can indeed have S/N good enough for 10-bit D to A converters, but the tiny sensors used in many devices usually are not good enough (though in the better cameras used, professional video and DSLRs, have sensors do make use of the extra bits.) Furthermore, many times imaging is done in low light, and in these conditions even the best sensors don't give one a large enough signal to make use of 10 bits per channel, with the exposure times people use.

Now I'm not saying the Air2S is not an improvement. It probably is if Jon has liked the results. But beware marketing hype which often uses verbiage simply to confuse people over math.

Not true, too big. I had the air 2, mini 2... and all are too big, because of the remote... no go
