Interesting. I had not heard of cistanche. Your mentioned commercial formula as far as I can tell seems ok but perhaps not great ; my impression is most commonly mentioned Chinese plants for longevity are just ok though some mentioned in Taoist dietetical texts may be decent, perhaps meaning that once better known plants among the Chinese may have been forgotten by many. From a brief look at cistanche and awareness of some other studies, there is one plant that extends lifespan in a certain standard of test of lifespan extension 10x+ more than cistanche. Yet who knows perhaps worth taking.
