Today we look at form factors, not to be confused with layouts; this describes basically how big your keyboard is. From tiny to enormous, we're covering it all here.

Should've mentioned the 1% layout, the telegraph

Vortex now makes a commercial 40% keyboard, called the Vortex Core. The only reason I can think of to have one(besides wanting a bunch of mechanical keyboards) is to be able to carry it around in a pocket.

Navless is the BEST layout objectively space saving without any loss of function and more aesthetically pleasing than TKL with all its unused space

This is awesome! Covering the basics like this is a great idea 😊

You could also mention some of the ergonomic keyboards like Atreus and Ergodox for example. There also is the Gherkin 30% keyboard which is kinda useless IMO.

Oooookay, so when are we expecting a review of the Planck? (and you do have to use it for a week, remember!)

i would like to hear your opinion about the A4tech left side numeric keyboard ...

Vortex Core is a mass produced 40% keyboard, there's also the Minivan and the JD40/45 which usually comes as a kit and require assembly.

Would you review the Datahand if you managed to get your hands on one?

@3:45 I enjoyed it as always. :) It is a great shame that Cooler Master has butchered the switch choice for they current lineup of mechanical keyboards in Europe. In Murica they keep on offering MX Blues.

I still said, in my head, after you finished, "and following is a typing demonstr..." lol

Great video, some commercially available and mass produced 40% keyboards include the Vortex Core and the Magicforce 49 - the Planck is also one, but it's sold as a kit and not assembled, so I kinda don't count it

wait wait wait. There was something at the very end you showed called Datahand. Any chance you'll be doing a review of that?

Have you ever dealt with the "projection" keyboards? I'm not sure if that's the correct category, but they are the ones comprised entirely of projected versions of a standard or tenkeyless board and use sensors to figure out which key your selecting. I've heard most are rubbish, but haven't ever really seen a demonstration of one, figured I'd ask you :)

Love compact Apple Wireless Keyboard (2007-2015) for typing.

as someone who switches keyboards for different games and typing i find that a 40 percent keyboard fits into my desk nicely

I think we should have more navless keyboards commercially available. I like to have my navigation keys, but after I discovered that the numpad doubles up the navigation keys in one block, I find the necessity of the navigation keys a waste of space, IMO. I can buy a tenkeyless keyboard just fine if I have the money for it, but I would rather have a navless one to not sacrifice my numpad. After all, even if I did still play games on my laptop, what is the point of using navigation arrows for gaming anyway?

Is the Battleship you showed in this video a Model M or F? I'm a little confused, because I cant identify the serial number of one I recently found on ebay (also with non-stepped Ctrl- and Alt-keys) and the one in this video looks exactly like mine (except for the German layout).

I'd rather use number of keys instead of percentage, since a full size has 104/105 keys (ANSI/ISO). Percentages end being a close approximation but can generate confusion specially in the realm of 65%-ish keyboards (e.g., leopold fc660, varmilo 68).
