It’s very annoying that we are now in 2022 and there are two agreements from last century that we have to deal with. I am in Australia and want to ride a motorcycle in Vietnam but because our IDP uses the 1949 agreement Vietnam do not recognise us. So to satisfy travel insurance I need to be licensed in Vietnam which requires me to get a 3 month or longer visa. At present I cannot get an answer as to when Vietnam will be issuing visas longer than 30 days, very frustrating.

I’m an American expat who wants to visit the US. The IDP doesn’t give any more information that my license has, its all in English. The state I want to visit is California which is not needed. Some rental companies require it but I don’t understand because I use an American credit card. Go figure.

Great video but if your drivers license for example expires every 10 years it means that you can renew your IDP up to 10 years. Is that right? thanks!
