I’m going with the six tools to start out with and getting a planer and a miter saw

I agree with most of your picks. And looking back basically followed that path. But if I was to do it again, instead of the table saw and miter saw I would have personally gone with a track saw, used it to build an MFT like table. I can do just about everything with the track saw that I can do with both the miter saw and table saw. As I grew and saved I am sure I would have still gotten a decent table saw and miter saw but I wish I would have gone this route.

Have my original blue ryobi tools from over 25 years ago still all work.

I would go planer if youre on a budget or limited space. Circular and table saw can both do miter cuts, miter saw just makes it easier. Great suggestions. Love all of your videos

For the most part, I think that with a good circular saw, an edge guide and a router\router table, you can do most things that you can do with a table saw, if not more. With that said, I would get a miter saw before a table saw. I use my Dewalt miter saw a lot!

Kinda getting bored with the videos, like it better when you build things

#4 has to be a table saw. DeWalt one isn't too bad on the wallet. And the rack & pinion fence makes it worthwhile. #5 is planer because a saw sled can do what miter saws can do (unless you're doing long pieces). But a dust deputy + vacuum as to be close to #5.

Planer instead of miter unless also doing house projects. Can build jigs to cut all of the angles needed on the table saw. Can't replicate a planer.

I can’t stress enough that folks do their homework before buying a table saw. I was gifted a Craftsman Table Saw only to find out later that I cannot use any Dados or aftermarket miter gauges, since their miter slots are not the standard width “3/4 inch” most better saws use. The SKIL saw Matt is showcasing is good to go. It has standard Miter slots and accepts a Dado stack. And in his review video, Matt uses an upgraded Miter gauge from Incra which is way better than the stamped metal one that comes with it. Knowing what I know about table saws now, mine collects dust while I make the majority of my cuts with my Festool Track Saw.

If I was starting out with tools that are available these days I'd go for a track saw over a table saw, no hesitation.

Is there a Canadian YouTuber that does similar reviews and recommendation videos? Love these videos but some stuff recommended either aren’t available!in Canada (or harder to get) or are close in price point to other Canadian products.

I already have the miter saw, so the planer is the next tool/toy to be added to my garage shop.

Home depot had an awesome sale $400 for the newer ridgid miter saw with the work bench free.

Hey I'm sorry I just hear you say this in a few of your videos and I feel like I really just need to correct you for my own sake lol TTI does not own ridgid. TTI does own Milwaukee and Ryobi but Emerson electric owns rigid power tools however Emerson electric apparently doesn't feel like producing the power tools themselves so they license the manufacturing of their tools branded ridgid out to TTI because TTI is known for making good power tools. But to say TTI owns rigid is not actually accurate Emerson electric owns ridgid.

I agree with that starting lineup... I wish I had gotten a circular saw with my drill kit early on, because it would have been a much better deal!
Before I had my table saw and miter saw, figured out how to use my circular saw and drills for everything!
I was bummed that this video cut out abruptly before even 14 min.. hopefully everything is ok!

Can you check with your viewers on thoughts of a compressor or battery for brad nailer? Pros and cons? I’ve seen a lot of issues with the compressors exploding over time..
