Sweet! You've made it this far! In case you aren't familiar with the guy whose face occupies most every video here, my name is Brian Matiash. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and now reside in Portland, OR. I'm a working photographer, published author and lover of all things social media. While photography is—and will always be—my #1 passion, growing in the video space is a major priority here, which is why you'll be seeing lots of new videos posted each week. I hope you enjoy them!

Excellent review. Left me with no questions. I like the conclusion note about the bag size relative to the trip length. Thanks man!

So weird! I literally ordered this bag yesterday, before this video posted. I'm glad your review reinforced my decision!

Looks like a good bag i went with a lowepro whister 40 though it was cheaper and it included the camera inserts you dont have to buy them seperate. If shimodo lowered there price with included inserts instead of having to buy them separate i will pick one up. Most sites dont state that there sold separately.

Awesome video, Brian, where you clearly articulated some significant features and advantages of this bag! If my Sukha ever wears out, I may be turning to Shimoda! ;-)

Hey Brian, can you post a video showing how you access the back compartment without taking off the bag? I’m having issues with the zipper at the bottom of the compartment. Maybe it’s how I have the bag strapped. Thanks.

Looks like a great bag but I'm 6'4" and 290. Do you think the waist strap will be large enough? Seems ideal if it fits.

For rear access by rotating the bag to the front, and then accessing it by the rear panel. Due to the design of the rear panel (opening to the side). It's really difficult to unzip as the zipper has to travel along the tummy (I'm waist 32"). Do you have a tip on that?

Hi Brian, excellent review! I am about to purchase this bag, I have only two questions regarding the ICU. Do you think the Large ICU will fit two canon 1DX2 bodies with lenses attached (16-35 2.8 III and 70-200 2.8)? And second question is, when opening the rear panel it seems that the bag gets in the way on the top corners of the ICU. Can this be an issue on your opinion? Thank you for your help and your review!

Would the Shimoda 30L be too small for a day mountain hike? I don't want to carry a lot of gear up a mountain so I would use the small insert for an A7Riii, 24-105 and Loxia 21 or Batis 18. Brian, what do you think?

Brian, can I install the Peak Design Capture Clip on the shoulder strap, or is the strap too wide on the Shimoda?

Holding the purchased because I am really not sure about the durability of the adjustable shoulder straps

Better check b&h reviews before buying. Not many gave positive reviews..
