Only Americans would get detained by a foreign country for having spare bullets in their luggage.

How did the bullets not get detected at the airport in the States? That seems to be the real problem.

It is the sheer arrogance of some USA citizens who think that they can flout overseas' laws as it doesn't apply to Americans ( in their mind).

Thank you. Finally someone who stated the obvious. What idiots.

Sorry, but this was totally on the tourist. How do you not check your suitcase that you put bullets inside?!

Bullets can explode. You don’t necessarily need a gun. They are projectiles packed with gun powder. Even dropping them at a certain angle can cause them to go off.

America Is a Gun

England is a cup of tea.
France, a wheel of ripened brie.
Greece, a short, squat olive tree.
America is a gun.

Brazil is a football on the sand.
Argentina, Maradona’s hand.
Germany, an oompah band.
America is a gun.

Holland is a wooden shoe.
Hungary, a goulash stew.
Australia, a kangaroo.
America is a gun.

Japan is a thermal spring.
Scotland is a highland fling.
Oh, better to be anything
than America as a gun

Guns in places where they're illegal are extremely expensive as is the ammo. In America I could buy a pistol on the street for $100 by noon today (it's 10 am as I'm posting this) and in Australia that same would cost me $3k+ USD (and take a long time to find), and the ammo would be 20 times what it costs here. Not saying tourists are smuggling bullets into places like this to sell for a few bucks, that's just pure old American exceptionalism; aka stupidity. My point is, banning guns works, plain and simple. 🤷‍♂️

As a stoner, I get it. Jays, edibles, and vape cartridges. As long as the TSA isn't around, if you find one of those in your luggage it's like finding a $10 bill in your jeans pocket.

I said this. I really feel that certain parties in T&C are getting Americans jammed up😂

Actually a lot of countries have the same restrictions on ammunition as T&C. Not sure why they got singled out

US Americans complaining about something like this, is comical. It’s just as weird that you can open carry guns in certain states, or that you can buy guns like candy with almost no background checks, but instead chocolate eggs with a toy in it are hazardous and forbidden in US. But the most weird thing in America are the 80 million people who voted for the orange toddler to be your president🤫

I forgot I had a taser in my purse. That took a long time through TSA along with a police report. What can I say? It's dangerous to walk around as a woman.

Thanks for speaking the truth here. Gun crazy AND responsible. Many had themselves photographed w/ their children. Because kids NEVER go rooting.

True story: I rented a tux for a wedding, and while I changed BACK out of it, I found a full S&W .40 magazine in the bag.

I'm in Australia. I bought an old camper and had it renovated. The builders found live ammo in it. (I hadn’t known it was there!)

Luckily one of the builders belonged to a gun club and could dispose of it legally. I could have been in a great deal of trouble.

The rest of the world does not have America's casual attitude towards guns and ammo.

Well, actually, my son set off a couple of bullets by throwing them on the sidewalk. He was escorted home by a very friendly police officer. You caught him at it. He found the bullets stuffed under the bushes at the edge of the park. Had been gun fire earlier that week, we figured someone didn't want to get caught with them. Cop figured someone else found the gun. Sat down and talked to my son about gun safety for about 30 minutes.

Lived there .... tourists from some countries are insane ... eg. imagine arriving on a $2M crewed sportfish and failing to buy a $10 fish license .... or asking to have a dolphin killed because they werr bitten trying to ride the dolphin grabbing the blowhole ... (guess which country)

In the US there are tons of laws that are unreasonable but which you still have to respect. But I guess tourist countries should just bend over.
