A great march. From one of the best WWII films ever made.
*1941 is a Christmas movie* 😃

I tried out for the Army band while in the U.S. Army since a trombone slot was open. This was many years ago and I was playing on many groups all my life ; but didn’t pass audition for the 8th Army band. The section leader told me to keep practicing and I still have after an additional 30 years of playing. Actually at the time the section leader told me I was almost good enough as last chair player which now all these years later I realize that was an amazing compliment from him.

Once again, we tubas get no love from the camera operators. lol This is such an underrated march and although I have only performed it once, it is one of my favorites to play. Especially that run at 03:05. Great job, team! Terry the Tuba

Fabulous band and musicians. Thank you all for your service. I checked out John Williams conducting the march with the U. S. Marine Band - the tempo is more relaxed and it swings!

It still blows me away just how talented Williams is as a composer. This march would fit perfectly into a Sousa concert and nobody would bat an eye.

If a person didn't know this song was made for a movie they would obviously think this is a real military song .
