Using confidential documents provided to Al Jazeera by Wikileaks, . “Anatomy of a Bribe” exposes the government ministers and public officials willing to sell off Namibia’s assets in return for millions of dollars in bribes. Al Jazeera journalists spent three months undercover posing as foreign investors looking to exploit the lucrative Namibian fishing Industry. The country’s Minister of Fisheries is shown willing to use a front company to accept a $200,000 ‘donation’. Exclusive testimony from a whistleblower who worked for Iceland’s largest fishing company reveals that his employers instructed him to bribe ministers and even the president in return for fishing rights worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Amazing journalism. This is the modus operandi of corruption in Africa (country after country) with heartless politicians. Johannes, thank you for exposing this corruption. You are a brave man, and a good man.
I hope Namibia recovers everything left of what these corrupt fellows have stolen from Namibians, and I hope they pay a very heavy price for their actions.
Aljazeera, thank you very much. The sky is your limit.

The damage that corrupt government can do. It is just sickening. This is exactly how the ANC here in SA does things as well. And now our industries are falling into ruin because they extracted so much rent. Men of weak moral fibre and strong sticky fingers. Makes me sick. So many suffer.
Good job with this reporting. Give them something to fear their own stomachs. Hopefully there will be some more filled prison cells soon. They should still be able to find a certain kind of stripper in there. So they should be happy with that.

It takes a real man never to write his wrongs and come forward to tell the truth even if it means him risking his safety

Well presented, thanks to the journalists.Thank you Johannes for exposing the sharks, at least you have a conscious that they don't. It's pathetic how the "elite" are accepting peanuts just because they are selfish and they don't care about Namibia's economy and her people. I say peanuts because they are engaging multi billion dollar companies to get all the advantage and if the comment by fisheries minister at the club is anything to go by, that money can't last him a week.
