SOLD: 2014 Mustang GT500 3600 Original CA Miles

Ford records indicate 5,730 examples of the 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 were produced, with only 258 of them coupes in Oxford White with the optional Recaro seats with Grabber Blue accents, like the example offered here. It has only 3,643 original miles, according to the seller. He says this Shelby is “immaculate” and has never been raced. It has reportedly had only one owner and its Monroney label shows Equipment Group 821A (3.73 axle ratio, Torsen limited-slip differential, larger wheels and tires, unique rear shocks, unique shift knob, Shelby stripes, side stripes, and rear spoiler with Gurney flap), Recaro seats, and a Shelby car cover. It also features the SVT Track Package, which included an auxiliary oil cooler, transmission cooler, and differential cooler.

POWERTRAIN
Rated at 662 horsepower, the 2014 Shelby GT500’s supercharged 5.8-liter DOHC V8 engine enabled 11-second quarter-mile blasts, according to a number of published road tests, along with sub-4-second 0-60 sprints. The seller says the engine is original, unmodified, and starts and runs with no issues, no smoke, and no leaks. Likewise, the stock six-speed manual gearbox is reported to shift smoothly and without issues. According to the seller: “You could eat off the engine; the engine bay sheet metal has been waxed and all the hoses and belts have received proper cleaning and treatment.”

EXTERIOR
“The paint is immaculate,” says the seller, noting the Oxford White finish is “like a mirror.” In fact, the exterior reportedly has only been cleaned with a clay bar, sealer wax, and ceramic detail spray. “It has never been washed with soap and water and never driven in the rain or snow,” he adds. There are “no blemishes and no rust,” asserts the seller, and the glass and seals are said to be like new, with the seals routinely dressed with rubber/seal treatment. All the exterior lights are said to work normally.

INTERIOR
The black leather cockpit, with the optional Recaro seats with Grabber Blue inserts, is described as being in “showroom condition,” with essentially no wear visible in the seat covers, carpet, headliner or other interior trim. “It still has that new-car smell,” says the seller. All the power features and accessories reportedly work normally, including the air conditioning system. The same goes for the gauges, interior lights, and other features. The car also retains its original Shaker stereo system, with no reported problems.

CHASSIS
The seller reports the chassis, suspension, and braking systems are original condition, with no known issues or needs. The Brembo front brakes use 14-inch rotors and four-piston calipers, and the steering system is electronically assisted. The car is said to roll on its original Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, which are mounted on 20-inch rear wheels and 19-inch front wheels. The tires have only 3,643 miles and are said to show an estimated 75 percent of their tread, while the wheels are reported to be “blemish-free” and in “excellent” condition. The seller says they’ve been routinely waxed.

DOCUMENTATION
The seller states that he will provide a clean California title in his name. Additional documentation for this 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 includes the original window sticker and dealer service paperwork. With only 3,643 original miles, one owner, and apparently meticulous maintenance, this nine-year-old Shelby appears in virtually new condition.
