I didn't think a park could actually be this bad, but leave it to Six Flags to operate what I consider to be the worst theme park I have ever been to.

I think you really need to understand the backstory to understand this park. It hasn't always been under Six Flags management, and they haven't put all that much money or effort into the park beyond Goliath. It was the amusement park left over from Expo '67, and has been added to little by little over the years. It was never intended to be a fully fledged regional park, much less a fully-fledged Six Flags park. The hope was that Six Flags would bring it closer to that goal, but they just haven't bothered. In fact, instead they took out some classic flat rides that gave the park character and had been there for quite some time. (Think: Six Flags Great America-style flat rides and you'll know what I mean.)

The real point of the park is to be a wonderful afternoon diversion from Montreal, itself. A place to go before or after food and cultural festivals elsewhere on the mid-river islands, or to watch the summer fireworks festival. On those terms it works great, especially before Six Flags when the older classic rides were still around, and Le Monstre was still being operated as a racing coaster. Back then the park delivered because it didn't overpromise. Right now, Six Flags over promises and that's the problem. It really needs to be under better management. FWIW, It's Le Vampire because of licensing issues. It really was supposed to be Batman.

On the other hand, you were in somebody else's city in somebody else's province in somebody else's country, so complaining that you hadn't bothered to learn a word of the local language--or bothered to learn that you were actually in an incredibly bilingual city and could easily have used English with anybody you encountered--that's really on you, not on the 2 million people who live in the Montreal region. Your cultural sensitivity in this video is essentially zero.

Trust me as a Canadian. Not even a Quebecois, but trust me. Poutine is a meal here in Canada.

Everyone’s focused about the poutine and not the six flags review lmao

im from quebec and i have to say that the lines are very long at La Ronde because it's the only one park that we have in quebec and because it's the only one, we have to appreciate it
Edit: Wow, so many likes! Thanks!

I like you Taylor, but some of your complaints were quite ignorant. First of all, poutine is a Canadian staple. It's a meal. It's not just fries with cheese or bacon, it is fries, cheese curds and gravy and it is really filling. Sure, a small portion could be considered a side, but in general, it is eaten as a meal. Secondly, you can't get mad at people for speaking French and English in a bilingual province. Not everyone in the world speaks English. If you were to go to China would you be mad that they were speaking Mandarin or Cantonese? I'm sure you didn't mean to offend, but judging a park because the patrons speak their native language isn't a valid complaint.

Sorry mate, but being from Quebec, I can say Poutine is one hell of a meal. Most popular meal in all of Quebec actually.

“There were these obnoxious lines to get on all the good rides”

Yeah, that kinda happens at amusement parks.

3:15 On that day, middle schoolers had a field trip at La Ronde.

EDIT : These were all of the teens with the orange and gray shirts.

10:45 -- if the park made a 360° change ... It would be right back where it started. I think you meant 180°.

"I don't think I have ever waited so long to enter a park."
I think Busch Gardens Tampa on Spring Break is a worthy contender for longest wait.

La Ronde is not even close to my fav park but your review is way too biased against the other visitors and not really about the park itself.

The reason why you can't go around the lake is that they're using that space to setup the bi-weekly fireworks. As you can imagine there would be certain risks to letting people anywhere near that. ;)
