The G30 520i with lots of equipment is simply not a light car, so the performance trade-off is at the top end over 200 kmh. The engine still does a respectable job, thanks in part to the ZF 8 speed gearbox. If you need something faster, the 530i is still the better bet without sacrificing much in terms of economy.

The engine noise pumped in makes it sound like a straight 6. It'd be nice to have a smaller inline 6 in the G30 just like in the E39 520i.

520i has roughly the same 0-60 mph time as a 1987 325i, 535i and 635csi. Progress (though the 520i is still slow by modern BMW standards and is missing that inline-6 silk).

It’s has a very nice exterior and interior. Look at the window switches, which are made out of aluminum. Also, this car is really fast for 180 hp. It looks like it has 220 which is still a lot of hp

I know this is only a 520i, but I expected a bit more. I can do this with my 12 year old 320d as well, so it's a bit underwhelming.

We all do like 120 km/h in uk highways and I imagine that would be the same in most of the countries. Why say this car is slow while it can do more then 200 km/h ??? Can you even use the power in a 530 or 540 in the highways ?? This can do the same with a lot less fuel used and I guess its the best one to buy. Everyone else who can’t even afford a BMW please keep your 20 years old cars which are faster than this... like no ones forcing you to buy one...

That is enought to power of engine.
I dont need more power while i drive my car. That is super enought.
So i think no need upgrade to 530 or 540
