I think survivors should have a "favourite pet" that gives a small sanity regeneration effect when near them like Wickerbottom likes the Kittykit, Willow likes the Broodling, etc.

they seriously need to give them some benefits the same hoe the mothling is
for the kitty, it can chase birds and insects, but on a slow duration and 25 damage seems fair enough
for wargy, it can assist you in combat and be like kitty but slide faster and 10 damage seems good enough or give that 10 damage as a buff to you
for giblet, it can give like a speed buff, maybe 10% that stack on anything
for ewlet, maybe a defense buff, like 10 % defense or maybe a stun spit/cough with a long cooldown
for gloom, a sanity effect or maybe a moon effect maybe have some sort of effect on nightmares
for peeper, maybe increase the duration or recruiting mobs, like some sort of hypnosis, got no real idea how can what kind of fitting power come from an eye and i don't want to make it a combat thing like lasers, because it would make it less original
for broodling is obviously spitting fire, it fits really well, can't be anything better and it highly depends how riskee players want to be it and the fire rate should be slow like kitty
also all pets should ride with your beefallo in the backseat

Walter can get a critter by switching to someone else, getting the critter and then switcing back.

Walter can have a second pet, he just can't adopt one himself. But since changing characters is so easy... and the pet won't go away if you do...he can have a pet + woby :)

I wish the pets had their own benefits. Although they are immortal companions, other than that, they don't do anything else. I play as Wendy, and I always pick The Lunar Mothling as I think it suits her as well as it gives the player a safe place from the darkness if fed.

mi only wish is that pets dont cry all the time and hovering the mouse over them dont block clicking on chests, also i dont remember if they block structure placement but also not that

Every chance I get in long worlds I always grab me a ewelet they are a trophy greater than killing dragonfly to me, because of how hard and rare they are (don't help they hit like a boss)

i once got a pet and abandoned it like 20 days later, the constant squealing was unbearable (it was the small eye of terrror cuz i didnt know what to do with the milky whites)
