Hello!

I'm from Brazil. Here, it's rare to find anyone outside big companies that knows or even care about properly setting their cables up.
I'm setting up my own home network, and I made a lot of mistakes like buying lots of shielded cable I have nowhere to bound to.
Your videos are helping me A LOT in solving those mistakes!

So thank you a lot!
It's also a shame I can't buy products from you guys. Your site is very well organized.

Excellent videos!
With home setup in mind using cat6a f/utp, if you don't ground the patch pannel, is it enough to ground it through a modem/switch or one computer that is grounded through it's electricity connection?

And i assume it's important that any grounded device connected to it, is grounded to the same endpoint to prevent a loop. So grounded to the same thing your electricity is grounded too.

Hi,

Firstly, love your videos. I really appreciate the content and attention to detail. 🙂

I know you cannot mix in unshielded CAT6a (10Gb) and shielded CAT6a runs to this unit but could you mix them if both are terminated with shielded keystones?

Would the shielded keystone be enough to block alien crosstalk for the unshielded cables in this unit?

I ask because I currently have about 12 unshielded CAT6a lines, improperly run and terminated by a contractor, which I’m re-terminating. Since the original installation, I’ve run another 4 shielded CAT6a lines and I’d love to transition both sets to this unit. I’d love it if I didn’t have to buy a 2nd patch panel and waste another 1U slot when there’s plenty of space left over on the 1st patch panel.

If not, will you be working on a staggered shielded rack for mixed environments?
