Hey. I’m a small shop van builder. My
Last 3 vans in row all have had same howling noise at freeway speeds. They used me as case study. If your Mercedes dealer needs the cheat code let me know. It all all comes down to shim alignment on the drive shaft.

I've seen many people having problems with these brand new sprinters. It's horrendous. You spend that much money on a van, you want years of trouble free motoring.

SAME ISSUE on my 170 4x4 - it’s the rear Leaf springs- Mercedes makes a kit for the rear leaf springs- it will fix your problem immediately.

Good luck with everything and as long as the videos are coming I’ll be clicking on them to watch no matter the subject….best of luck 🍀 the van gets fixed

I have a 2012 170 2wd fully built out with the same issue. It is a known problem with Sprinter drivelines. (look on sprintersource for some good discussions about it) Supposedly has to do with the very long drive shaft in them being a bit out of balance or orientation. I hope they are able to get it fixed. Our 2012 still does it to some degree but since it is out of warranty we just accepted it as it is. Our 2022 does not have the issue 🙂

We bought a new 2020 170” 4x4 Cargo Sprinter and the engine blew at 3700 miles. The new engine took two weeks to order and install. Everything was covered under warranty including travel expenses to and from the dealership (we lived in Portland but had it fixed in Boise). They think it was contaminated oil from the factory. We’re now at 42k miles and it’s been running smoothly since the replacement.

What happened to the day when they put a guy on the job and he stayed on it until it was fixed? It’s not the space shuttle.

Just wanted to say thank you for the discount code at Van Windows Direct. I ordered some windows for my van on New Years Day using your code. I called today and made sure i ordered all the right stuff. So far so good! Thanks again.

Love ALL your videos! Sorry to hear about the van. I hope it gets fixed and stays that way. Hope this video gets their attention and they hire more than one person that can find the problem. We are planning to buy our sprinter this year?? Waiting to see how they do with your van now.

Believe that is the exact dealer we took ole LadyLiberty to when it needed to get a new ignition and key. Hope they are able to resolve the issue quickly!

What happens if you start the build and the vibration comes back?

Best of luck with MBofAC! they had my wife's car for 8 months last year and 4 months this year SMH.
The blue tape in the van brings back memories for me of mine this summer...
BTW Brigantine 4x4 beach passes are available this Thursday morning- maybe I'll see you there.

Funny, my 2022 sprinter is going back to the dealer AGAIN tomorrow for a noise issue in the cargo area. Sorry to hear you are also having issues.

It’s actually a normal thing. My 2020 170 4x4 did the exact same thing. Could hardly bear 73 plus mph. It goes away when you add the floor, sound deadening, etc. it just resonates bad when empty.

Hey so I saw your comment on the other video, and we seem to have the same noise/issue. I noticed when I had a couple hundred pounds of stuff in the van, the noise was dramatically reduced, did not fully go away but almost gone. This hints at it being related to the leaf springs like others have mentioned. I have not taken mine in yet as I've been out of town for a couple weeks, but I will let you know what I hear when I do take it into the dealer. I am having another really alarming issue on mine that when climbing a slight grade with about 30-40% throttle, the van will do two fairly violent kicks and then go back to normal. This first started when I was driving in blizzard conditions with 4WD enabled, going about 60mph and is now happening when in 2WD..

I am bummed about all of the drive-train issues I am having already
