How to Move Audio Tracks in Audacity

Many will think it's dumb, but back when I started working on Audacity, I didn't know how to do that simple thing... Perhaps you could have extended the use of moving audio tracks a little more, but that'll do I guess.

If anyone can't use the time shift tool because it's blocked out with a circle with a slash through it, make sure you press STOP, the button next to the play button. Then it works...

How do I move it to an exact point though? Like if I want to have a clip begin at exactly 10 seconds in? Without having to zoom in endlessly of course. Is there anywhere to type in exactly where you want the clip to start?

Why is it when i chose the selection tool, i do not get what you showed? I am using what i think is the latest version, 3.1.3

I used Audacity on someone else's laptop to record audio before transferring it all to my main rig, and not knowing how to do this was a nightmare! For some reason I assumed "time shift" meant... to speed up or slow down the audio, as that's what it's similarly called in DAWs. No idea why I thought a freeware would have that feature! hahaha

Someone needs to put a memo in to whoever makes this software; "Call the 'time shift' button the 'move' button!"

For some reason it isn't letting me use the time shift tool if any body can tell me what the issue is?

When I clicked on that tool it just gave me a circle with a slash through it, so I can't click anything and can't move it...

Am I the only one that gets a circle with a dash through (basically saying "this can't be moved")? This doesn't help me but seems to be working for everyone else
