In Kenya it has been said....truthfully. Everyone will have access to the internet....but not water.

The 3rd Hannah Fry documentary that I have watched. Engaging, empathic, intelligent, and informative. A shining light in a bleak landscape.

Funny that my love of math was inspired by Hannah Fry from watching her videos on mathematics of love from rural Kenya. This made me want to pursue mathematics

I love when people can jump ahead in progress because we often see new innovations and ideas. I remember one story about local fisherman using an app to sell their catch and restaurants to get fresh supplies. Developed and used locally for their own benefit!

Asking questions instead of spinning a narrative, I love it!

I have totally taken for granted the fact that there are real people like Mojez preventing disgusting filth to be spread online. Glad him and his colleagues have decided to unionise and hoping they get proper compensation and mental health support for the important work that they do.

Finally, all those Nigerian princes will have an easier time finding someone to help move their money.

I left media after having to work on moderation. It's awful, social media is just nasty. It shows what large portions of humanity are really like and its horrible.

Brilliant work, Hannah! I’ve always been captivated by your ability to uncover the science and technology shaping our world. One area I’d love for you to explore is the venture capital (VC) industry in Africa, particularly in West Africa. There are so many brilliant innovators and ideas here, but access to capital remains a challenge. A documentary on how this could unlock potential for sustainable businesses and job creation would be truly eye-opening. As a software engineer based in Accra, Ghana, I see firsthand how impactful this could be. Keep up the amazing work!

Content censorship is a real problem, especially for people experiencing genocide or other violence people who own social media companies want to “moderate”

When the internet arrived in a remote village "For all of these people, the internet is a tool that can create opportunities in telemedicine, distance education, politics, business, leisure, and the fight against human rights abuses, legal violations and the destruction of nature."

I am from KENYA and now in the US and this documentary is so true and remarkable especially with the internet resell tech.
Having had a short stint on internet transmission tech the work by GOOGLE is amazing especially with load balancing on Mikrotik issues that arise as you load more people on the connect and also the frequency noise cancellation as you beam transmission from one receiver to the other.
