Was a bit sceptical when these tyres (SE4 & SE5 TI) came as standard on my Trek Remedy but man have I been surprised by them, will definitely be replacing them like for like when they wear out.

I’m generally a Maxxis guy - DHF 2.5” up front and a DHR II 2.4” in the rear. My Trek Remedy came stock with Bontrager 2.6” XR4 Team Issue front and rear. While they rolled very nicely on XC type smooth flow trails they didn’t provide anywhere near the grip I needed when things got steeper, faster, jankier. The Maxxis solved this issue although they roll significantly slower than the XR4’s. These new SE5’s look very similar to the Maxxis DHF’s which would be great. Side note: Bontrager tires fit like a dream on Bontrager rims. New Maxxis tires are a real bit$& to mount tubeless on my Remedy with the stock Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels.
