I'm just going to say this to the people who both the people who are and aren't interested in the toaru series. The anime adaptation did a horrible job at adapting the LN and just made both the MC (Touma) and the series so bland and generic.

For one they cutted out Touma's backstory of how his Misfortune effected his everyday life and how both adults and child around him called him the "God of pestilence" and would Bully and harass him. One adult even tried to stab him when he was young and the news reporter talked about it like it was a joke. It got so bad to the point where Touya (Touma's dad) had to send him to academy city at the age of 5 or 6.

They also cutted out Touma's inner monologue, which is mostly where Touma's character comes from. And how in every fight he's in he's always strategizing and finding a weakness in his opponents instead of just waving his right hand around.

As well as a lot of other stuff, such as how the magic system works, characters being more in deph than just stereotypes, cute interactions and a bunch if everything that makes index such a masterpiece of a series.

If any of what i said interested you please go read the LN'S on the subreddit, i promise you wont regret it even if you aren't that big into reading.
