Functional Resume Deep Dive would be very helpful to me too! This video was great and I shared it with my friends who are in the "update your resume" phase of the job search - thank you!

The font recommended in the video: Arial or TImes New Roman, the actual font of the example: Calibri?

Thank you for the videos as I am looking to make my resume ATS friendly also being a member of Indeed. My question is to avoid ageism it’s stated to leave off the year of graduation but yet they ask during the application process so they can still discriminate so what is the suggestion there? Thank you for your time.

Tip for Indeed and other companies making youtube videos: Stop using Zoom or another video call app for your videos. It's so obvious because of the extra compression and especially the audio. If you have to record with Zoom, at least go into the settings and turn off the auto volume and other auto settings, turn the noise reduction to low, enable "original audio", and manually adjust the volume to a good level yourself. You'll still get some glitches from compression and internet, but at least it'll reduce the "ducking" it does trying to reduce background noise. It makes the audio really hard to listen to.

But it'd be much better to use a program like OBS, or Camtasia, or any other app that allows you more control over audio and video quality, and records locally instead of using the internet. These zoom tutorials people have been making since 2020 are really hard to watch, especially because the audio is so "hollow" sounding.

Anyways, a little late on this comment but whatever. These videos are very helpful, just hurts my ears and bothers me as a video guy. lol

Indeed, I understand that it states to have a 1 page resume, however, what happens when per the ATS scan, it states 36 years, how do you go about trimming a 3 page resume to 1 page? I also saw a comment avoiding ageism, and leaving off graduation date, what is your suggestion about that? Thanks!

I would like more funicular videos! I am a camera operator and had to go back to valet parking back and forth cause no steady work! I could shoot and edit this video I’m watching right now with my home studio setup! Also I would love to do a video explaining the difference between software required for jobs! I have PowerDirector for editing software and most jobs and skill tests ask about Adobe Premium! They are all similar! Makes me so mad! I can learn different software from working! I have before!

So because ATS scans for keywords from the job description, and candidates are encouraged to use keywords from the job description, ATS has, paradoxically, made itself redundant as a filtering tool.

I’m on this video again after two years ago. My question is do I even bother attaching a resume? Or just write on the Indeed application? I have had no luck and recently discovered a big problem! My Indeed profile listed almost everything out of order and stuff I wouldn’t even include! I swear I don’t think I wrote it! Also I just updated my resume last night on my computer and have the same problem I received from before. Indeed says it’s to small a file! Help please! Thanks!

How do you work a chronological resume if you have big gaps in unemployment due to taking care of children, and in particular, if your most important experience is NOT your current underemployed job?

Sadly, this format DOESN'T work for Canada!
