Chicago police release October crime numbers

The Chicago Police Department released its October crime report Monday. In Chicago, the violent crime is still on track to top 2020.

Comparing crime rates to 2020 helps soften the news. Sure, crime was up a little from 2020 but only because 2020 was a record year (until 2021). Compare 2021 to 2018 or 2019 and crime is WAY up. Even by Chicago standards.
