Baldur’s Gate 3: [Patch 7] : How to play with all companions (Adjustable Party Limit mod)
Hey everyone, today we're diving into a fantastic Baldur's Gate 3 mod, the Adjustable Party Limit. If you've ever found yourself frustrated by the game's default limit of four characters, this mod is for you. What makes it unique? Well, while there are plenty of party limit extender mods out there like Party Limit Begone or Aether's No Party Limits, this one brings some features that set it apart.
First off, with Patch 7, installing this mod has become even easier. You can now install it directly through the in-game mod manager—just search for "Adjustable Party Limit" within the mod manager, and you're good to go. No more dealing with external tools or manual installation, making it perfect for quick setup.
Another major selling point is the built-in protection against infamous bugs like the Act 1 lake boat bug, where party members can turn invisible, or the long resting bug, which can leave your party stuck in a "sleeping" state. This mod checks for those situations and blocks you from taking actions that could trigger these bugs, keeping your game smooth.
Customization is another huge plus. Not only does it remove the party limit, but it also lets you set the exact number of party members you want. Whether you're looking to just add a couple more or build a full-on army, you have control over your party size.
Now, let’s talk about how to use it. Once you load your save with this mod enabled, you'll notice a passive ability added to your character. You’ll need to enable that first, just like you would for non-lethal attacks. From there, you’ll see four new spells in your hotbar. Use the ones with up and down arrows to adjust the "UNSET LIMIT," which doesn't change your party size yet, but preps it. After setting your desired limit, cast the spell with the tools icon to apply it. Heads up—your character will be stunned for six seconds while the game adjusts the party size. After that, you’re good to go.
A quick note: this mod doesn’t change the number of human players you can have in multiplayer. For that, you'll still need mods like Party Limit Begone.
If you’re worried about compatibility or bugs, don’t be. Adjustable Party Limit works with almost every mod out there, except for other party limit extenders. Plus, it’s safe to uninstall, and there’s even an uninstaller spell included to ensure everything’s clean when you remove it.
Looking ahead, the creator has some exciting plans. They're working on a difficulty mod called Tactician Enhanced, which will scale the game's difficulty as your party grows. Expect enemies to get more hit points, actions, and other bonuses to keep things balanced with a larger party. That mod is set to release soon, so keep an eye out.
And lastly, there’s already been an update for Adjustable Party Limit that adds a feature allowing you to easily trim your party down to four members before long resting. This is perfect for avoiding the long resting bug and makes managing your party even simpler.
That’s all for today’s guide on the Adjustable Party Limit mod. Give it a try, and let me know what you think in the comments!
