I don't see the US getting involved at all other than saying publicly that both sides should solve this diplomatically. The US has been pulling back forces globally as the electorate and politicians move towards a more "isolationist" mindset. What could get interesting is if Iran and Turkey get involved militarily, which I think is much more likely than US involvement.

I'm not exactly sure anyone who followed the war in 2020 would call the new Azeri army "inept."

This is a highly mountainous area which no one thought could be taken easily. They literally did it in 44 days with very few casualities while blowing up an untold amount of Russian air defense systems.

It's essentially a small nation with a small military (in global terms) but calling them inept is pretty ridiculous. Especially considering what they just did.

I've been following the news out of this region since the last spat imat the start of the Ukraine war and never got this much detail about how in the H this territorial dispute had started and how these two countries had gotten to this point.
