Little Lucca is making incredible progress following the amputation of his tail — a necessary step after the severe injury he suffered during the electrocution that killed his mother.

While his recovery so far has been encouraging, Lucca is still very young and fragile. He’ll be closely monitored in the weeks ahead as he adjusts and continues to heal.

We’re so grateful to everyone who’s given this brave little howler monkey a fighting chance.
