BEST Sticky Toffee Pudding Recipe!

A timeless desert island dessert which is perpetually popular. This version is an ideal family favourite as there is no fussing around with little molds, instead the batter is poured into a big serving dish, baked in the oven, slathered with salted caramel and devoured tableside with vanilla ice cream!

Serves: 6

Ingredients (US & METRIC):

For the pudding:
125g/ 1 stick butter
150g/ ¾ cup light muscovado sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp black treacle
2 large free range eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
150g/ 1 ¼ cup self-raising flour
150g/ 5 oz medjool dates, chopped
2 tsp bicarbonate soda
Tub of vanilla ice cream, to serve

For the sauce:
100g/ ¾ stick unsalted butter
150g/ ¾ cup dark muscovado sugar
3 tbsp golden syrup
150ml/ ⅔ cup double cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Generous pinch sea salt

At 3:50 the recipe says to add 150g of Bicarbonate Soda - this should be 2 tsp. Sorry guys!!

If there’s anyone doubting this recipe, don’t!! I’ve made this probably 3/4 times and it turns out good all the time. My entire family loves it. If you don’t have treacle or golden syrup, just use honey! The taste is strong but It still works well

I just made this tonight- I have never made sticky toffee pudding before and I actually haven’t made anything from scratch in a few years s I was a bit nervous. This was so easy to follow and I’m honestly shocked at how amazing it is. Better than any other sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had at any restaurant and so much more satisfying to know I did it myself. Thank you so much for this!!! I never comment on videoss butt thisss deserves it. The recepiee is exceptional. I used honey instead of the trickel and golden syrup and it turned amaaaazing and I just left the golden syrup in the caramel but it still turned lovely. My mother who is not a fan of sweets had seconds so if you are sceptical about it justtt tryy itt.❤️❤️

Made this at the weekend and it was wonderful. The pudding is so light. I did substitute some of the water with dark rum when simmering the dates for an adult dessert 👌

I just made this recipe!!! It came out phenomenal!!!! Had my first sticky toffee pudding at Hell's Kitchen in Vegas and immediately fell in love. Found this authentic recipe and decided to give it a shot for a dinner party I was attending. Bought the authentic ingredients it calls for (I'm located in the US) since I didn't want to jeopardize the flavors.
