The intriguing dynamic between public observation and scientific discovery often reveals instances where individuals notice phenomena before scientists. This phenomenon underscores the invaluable role of citizen scientists and keen observers in contributing to our understanding of the world. Here's a reflection on this symbiotic relationship: Keen Observation: Everyday individuals, driven by curiosity, possess a unique ability to keenly observe their surroundings. Accessibility of Technology: Advancements in technology provide people with tools to document and share observations instantly through social media and other platforms. Wide Distribution of Knowledge: Information dissemination has become widespread, enabling rapid sharing of observations across diverse communities. Crowdsourced Data: Citizen scientists contribute to crowdsourced data, offering a wealth of information that can lead to scientific insights. Unfiltered Perspectives: Unfiltered by scientific paradigms, everyday observers may approach phenomena with fresh perspectives, uncovering nuances overlooked by traditional scientific methods. Involvement in Natural Events: People often find themselves directly involved in natural events, such as weather anomalies or ecological changes, prompting firsthand observations. Rapid Response: The immediacy of public response allows for real-time monitoring and reporting of events, expediting the recognition of emerging phenomena. Community Collaboration: Communities, online and offline, collaborate in sharing observations, creating a network that amplifies the collective observational power. #CitizenScience #ObservationSkills #ScientificDiscovery #PublicEngagement #CommunityObservations #CrowdsourcedData #EverydayScientists #CitizenScientistCommunity #KnowledgeSharing #PublicParticipation #TechnologyAdvancements #ScientificInsights #ObservationBeforeScience #CommunityCollaboration #FreshPerspectives #ScientificContributions #DemocratizationOfKnowledge #CuriosityDriven #RapidResponse #KeenObservers #SharedDiscoveries #fyp #fypシ #medicine

This makes killers, kidnappers, etc more horrifying because it clearly didn't work on them.

Its really concerning to see in the comments that so many women say their partner get more aggressive rather than calming down..

I also think it depends on the man because my husband gets less aggressive when I cry but thats because he is a caring man who doesn't like me crying and wants to comfort. If you get a violent man, he will get more violent when anyone cries wont matter if it's a woman, man, or child

Its so important to mention how limited this study is! 25 participants is absolutely tiny. This would need to be replicated so many times with so much more control before we can say "women's tears have super powers".

They should have tested both male and female tears on both men and women. The way the study is described, it sounds like they had pre-drawn conclusions and arranged the study that way

In high school, I had a very tough principal. Tall, militant, a very disciplined guy. He didn’t mess around. So when I get called into his office, and he told me that I wasn’t going to be able to walk in my senior graduation. Due to a mishap with some of my credits. I immediately burst into tears. He was beside himself, and frankly panicking. It was very sweet to see him soften with compassion. By the end, he told me I would be allowed to walk as long as I promise to finish up my remaining credits after. And if I’d stop crying of course!

I remember when I was young - about 6 years old, I can't help but cry being hit by my father with a belt. The more, and the longer I cry, the more angrier and harder he hits. I can remember his eyes filled with hate and violence. I eventually got used to always being hit and felt numb on my backside, but I kept crying, still, everytime I'm being "disciplined".

He worked overseas, with my mom, so the hitting stopped. Me and my brother were looked after by our grandparents and other relatives. After they came back from years working overseas, we are a bit older, and was rarely hit, but he's still narcissistic in nature, even up to this day. He's gotten milder with age, but still so much pain in my ass - when I was a child to adulthood - because of his personality.

He always said that we were lucky that's just how he hit us, because he said he experienced worse.

But I, as her daughter, choose not to repeat this cycle for my own future child/children. Stop the cycle. Be different. Don't be like the person who inflicted you pain and suffering. Instead, love, love the way you wanted to be loved. And don't forget to love yourself enough to avoid people who disrespects, cause you pain, and makes you think less of yourself.

You deserve better. You are better. Choose better ❤

I am blessed to say that my man is not one of those that reacts with aggression when I cry. He softens and always takes me in his arms 🥺

So does this only work if they smell the tears ? I've seen women cry and men still react violently.

I swear all my past has shown me is that they get angrier when you cry

We shouldn't have to cry for a man to calm the fuck down. Also a lot of men get angrier when you cry.

In my experience, crying in front of men just made them extremely uncomfortable. It was even more unfortunate because it was in the workplace. I literally could not stop crying. Then I joked with my mom later that men can't handle women's tears and she agreed.

I saw one amazing study of tears under the microscope that showed tears for happiness, sadness, fear, and so on. Each has their own crystalline err snowflake like designs!!

Some guys get angry, scary.
Be careful if you find someone like that.
Others get aggressive.
Run.
