Mukteshwar is a beautiful place in the hills of Uttarakhand approximately 50 k.m. from Nainital. A Man-Eater tigress that killed 24 human beings, was active in this area during 1907-1910 It was named Mukteshwar Man-Eater by Jim Corbett and was finally accounted for by him in 1910.
