Israeli Air Force investigates Houthi missile incident

The Israeli military says early investigations contradict a claim by Yemen's Houthi rebels that they fired a hypersonic missile into Israeli territory.
Israel says it was a less advanced ballistic missile.
The military acknowledged the projectile evaded Israel's early air defence system and was only partially destroyed.
Some of the debris landed close to the international airport near Tel Aviv.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the Houthis will pay a heavy price for the attack.

The Houthis say the new hypersonic ballistic missile was painted with a Palestinian keffiyeh, or scarf.
The group says it was targeting a military position in the Jaffa area.

Hussain al-Bukhaiti, a pro-Houthi Yemeni journalist and political analyst, has said that the Houthis have not yet used their latest, most advanced missiles against Israel yet.

Hypersonic refers to any object - missile or not, guided or not or even a human being - traveling between 5 and 25 times the speed of sound. The missile that was launched today from Yemen to apartheid traveled a distance of 2040km in 11 min, leading to a speed of 3090m/s or 11130 km/h, which is about 9 times the speed of sound. Since 5 <= 9 <= 25, the missile was indeed hypersonic, don't let you misguided by the genocide spokesperson Alexandre Vautravers.
