I just loved the Dragonshy episode. It was like one big Hobbit/Lotr reference. the Story remind me of Hobbit (Peace loving Bilbo is almost dragged into the adventure to reclaim the the treasure stolen by Smaug the dragon) and the music that plays in the background while they climb the mountain sounds like a slightly edited version of the Lotr theme. Amazing, just amazing.

Another reference is canterlot and Minas tirith. They are very much alike. The same goes for the nightmare moon arc. It's like the rebellion of Melkor in the sillmarillion

Why didnt i find this sooner!! Im also doing MLP/LOTR Stuff :). Im working on one right now with Celestia as Gandalf. The scene's from the Hobbit, Where Gandalf tells Radagast/Luna " If he had a name its long since past, One of NINE"

you should totally extend the clip to when Gandalf lets Frodo chose between Boromir suggesting turning back to Gondor to make for Minas-Tireth, or Gimli/s suggestion to go though the Mines of Moria.
like if you want to see that.

My list looks totally different ^^
Frodo= Twi, Sam=Spike, Gandalf= Starswhirl (or whats his name ^^*** sounds simmilar at least...) Aragorn=Shining Armor, (Arwen= Cadence) Boromir=Dashi, Gimli=AJ, Legolas= Rarity. Merry and pippin are a little hard... should be fluttershy anf Pinki but I'd want to have Pinki as Golumn ^^* anywho: Elrond=Luna, Galadriel=Celestia, Sauron= Sombre, Saruman=Sunset Shimmer

Well in a fan made thing it doesn't really matteri f a character is in the original Series still alive now does it?
I think the role of Frodo fots because both are the protagonists. She isn't really oh so powerfull especially at the beginning of the show etc. I see your point of course but personally I find it quiet fitting But I get you agree with the rest of my cast?

Twilight wouldn't really suit as Frodo. Needs someone smaller and weaker, like AB, though Spike would be a good Sam. As for Star Swirl the Bearded, for one thing, he isn't even alive, and for another I think Twilight would be the one suitable for the role. 'Sides, Sunset being Saruman would be more suitable if Twi was Gandalf.
