Larloch is my favorite Lich in DnD. His pursuit of "Leave me alone and let me study cool magic stuff" is admirable.

I actually played a character who was an Undying Warlock, and had this guy as his patron. It was a ton of fun.

One thing thats always intrigued me in FR, but that I know nothing about - is Kara-Tur and Maztica - basically the lands beyond Faerûn that get little coverage in the Campaign Setting - although the only lore books I have ever concerned myself with are the 3rd edition ones. Aint got the time to acquire and read all these new books - so Im also entirely grateful that this channel exists.

I'm preparing a Netheril campaign, and Larloch is one of my key villains! Thanks so much for the excellent video, and for the many excellent videos you've made for us!

In Annotated Elminster, Ed Greenwood sated that Larloch was probably a level 46 Lich... That was in 3.0 around 1374. I assume that later at the end of the Herald, that he was substantially higher level and probably with a bunch of templates.

Larloch is one of the very few Chosen of Mystryl... Others theorized being: The Srinshee and Ioulaum. All are above level 40 mages. (again this is 3.X rules, but no matter the rules, they are epically powerful)!

We would love to see a video on both The Srinshee and Ioulaum! They are super cool and have great lore. Again in Annotated Elminter, Ed Greenwood says the Srinshee is a level 54 mage... Probably the most powerful spellcaster, in pure magical output, in the entire Realmspace!

Thanks for great content!!!

Now we know more about the "man" behind Larloch's Minor Drain.

Rhaugilath has since broken free of Larloch’s grasp (according to “Turn Back the Endless Night”)

He tricked adventurers into getting him released, indirectly, when they stopped a few Zulkirs from releasing Dendar the Night Serpent

This is simply AMAZING! Thank you very much for this video. I am actually in the middle of crafting an adventure around the Trollbark Forest and recently stumbled upon this guy. This video is perfect timing and gave me so many ideas. Wonderful as always man!

This was always my favorite obscure ultimate evil bad guy. I had a whole campaign built around him.

I have to correct you: Larloch is not the oldest non-dragon thing in Faerün.
Halaster the Black is a Imaskar Artificer, whose real name is Halither. He's was there and was a powerful artificer in -3900DR.
The Srinshee is an ancient elf. She was ancient when the Mythal over Myth Drannor was erected in 261DR. She had apparently lived in Sharrven. An elven city which was destroyed in -2700
Ioulaum is far older than Larloch and resides somewhere in Underdark. Ioulaum was born in -3315DR. And was an Arch Netherese Archanist when Larloch was born.
Arthindol the Terraseer is a Sarrukh lich and about 25000 years old.
... These are just off the top of my head! Larloch is about 2000 years old... not that much!

Larloch is my favourite Lich and is probably the most powerful known Lich even the chosen of Mystra could not defeat Larloch they could only delay him and he was the first chosen of Mystryl the original goddess of magic
