The counting is entirely invaluable! 'A one anna two'. This makes it so much more comprehensible.

Genius teaching. One of the few YT guitar teachers who actually employs rhythmic "counting"-- an essential that's fundamental everywhere in music other than guitar.

These lessons are extremely helpful. Not too fast, not too long and in a language I can digest. The fact that there is not a cost is an added bonus. David is one of the few blues teachers who can actually play the blues. His ear is spot on when it comes to transposing blues tunes and I soak up whatever tidbits he imparts. I have learned from him on Truefire as well as Happy Traums site and am never disappointed. Nice work David..thanks

Hi David,   I've done a few of your more advanced courses from Truefire, but still find these basics very refreshing and pick up little variations that make you think... that was so obvious,  but I had missed it.  Format, pace and arrangements are just spot on! Thanks.

I'd love an "Idle Moments" lesson. I'd pay for that. A series on fingerstyle acoustic jazz would also be great.

These are the best lessons I have ever seen about playing music.❤🦋

Brilliant teaching here and through this whole E-Blues series. In an hour or two, any armchair picker can be playing like the old black blues greats. I could use a bit more clarity on the chord voicings, but they're not difficult.

These are great lessons. I would also like to see a similar series for A. You do a great job.

Thanks David, while I was aware of these chord shapes individually, this lesson really helped tie them all together for me. I will take your advice and build some eight bar pieces integrating the shapes.

Such good lessons, built from the ground up, opening the door and letting in the light. Many thanks.

Hey Brother David, you are the bomb! I have a few of your TrueFire courses as well and am patiently wood shedding through them. These blues tidbits are so great, easily digestible and I feel I'm in the hands of a kind, loving maestro. BTW, I had the great fortune to open for Brownie and Sonny at the Gaslight for a week in '69 or so. And they both were the same as you, gentle and open hearted.

Really well explained. I'm pretty much a beginner at this stuff and though I find it difficult keeping it all together, that's just practice. Importantly this is the sound I wanted to play guitar for.

That's what I truly love most about David's great lessons!! David is always so "matter a fact" explains important items that never made much sense to here a great example is his explanation of the third position E chord and how it relates back to the open B 7 chord and the top three always wondered how this could be an E chord. But then, David goes even further to explain how licks correlate to all 4 chords!! This is wonderful stuff especially when one has limited time to study/practice and yet wants a lot of 'bang for the buck' and just like this WWI expression, his lessons are certainly dynamite!! I find it very very helpful, and at the right speed. Onlym sometimes you say "go here", and at times it's difficult to find it, or it could be easier to say "go here at 10th fret.." But it's just my personal speculation. Thank you very much!
