Amy Trujillo fronted The Family Affair, an American funk band which included both her brother Freddy (bass) and her then-husband Victor Indrizzo (guitar/drums). Once signed to RCA Records, A'Me Lorain was marketed as a solo teen pop act, not unlike Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, etc. and released this track as her debut single. This is the 12" version, remixed by Elliot Wolff (Paula Abdul, Joey Lawrence), from the UK CD single. It would be her only release here in the UK, but due to some success on the US dance chart, 1990 saw an album release in the states. The fun but oddly titled 'Standing In A Monkey Sea' was credited to A'Me Lorain & The Family Affair, but follow up single 'Follow My Heart' didn't do so well.
