Got the Womans World magazine! It is dated January 2nd. Read the article you're featured in first, motivated me to start another BBBE woe, planning on at least a month to start. I tried before for 3 days I believe. It went well, planned it for that long.
Remember carrots were unlimited back in WW days?
It was easier when I was alone but having a roommate is nice.
My mom really starting showing her memory issues after dad passed nearly 6 years ago, I think it was being relieved of the burden after his debilitating stroke two years before he passed. He so wanted to recover and mom spent everyday with him, driving 40 km from the farm everyday, she worked harder than any of us were and wouldn't let any of her 6 adult children give her a day off. Last year she fell and broke her upper arm and her memory went really bad, but as she healed she got some cognity (sic) back. I'm encouraging her to have an egg for breakfast instead of a slice of toast. We sure got bad information over the years, thanks to you and Dr Berry we're learning. Thanks Ancel Keyes for sending us down the wrong path!
Its funny the article was promoting loss for NY, next year?😄

Thank you, Anita, for emphasizing the importance of having a “why” that is attached to an emotional reaction. My father had Alzheimer’s, so preventing it is my “why”. Love your videos. ❤️

A very refreshing video, thank you, Anita. I have been watching your videos for a year or so. I have been pretty clean carnivore for most of the last couple of years, after several years of keto, and low carb for many more years. Dementia prevention is a big part of why I am never going back to unlimited carbs. I am 69 years old for a few more months, and both my daughters are actually angry that I eat the way I do. “ at your age you should just eat whatever you want” They just do not accept or believe food addiction is a true addiction. Like you, I do use seasonings occasionally, and I did bake and eat a two pans of protein gingerbread cookies over the holidays. A lot of people would be horrified at that, but I considered the decision to prepare them, and I really felt that having that cookie crutch available got me through the holiday emotional land mines I encountered with out a lick, taste or bite of any other non carnivore food. I have definitely noticed a big difference in my overall feeling of well-being after I began upping my fat intake. Like you I think my favorite meal lately is salted ground beef patties with a side of cold butter. January for me is simply tightening up my carnivore woe, with no dairy, except butter, and no seasonings other than smoked or plain salt. Have a great year, Anita, thank you

I'm finally starting to loose weight again after 1 1/2 years. No snacks, 2 meals a day most days (I skip dinner) and higher fat. This stall has kicked me hard but I feel healthier now. My why is Alzheimer's too. My mom, her mom and her aunt all died with this disease.

God Bless. My why? I don’t want to end up like like my mom or in-laws. Me and my spouse are keto to try to avoid dementia and ill health in our elder years! We want to enjoy good health and each other as long as possible. ❤❤❤

Butter at bedtime is helping me sleep better too! I didn’t believe it at first weird

You are absolutely correct. I sometimes forget and get hung up on weight loss, but my true "why" is I don't want to get cancer again. I want to heal my body and live my life to the fullest.

You are so very correct about people doing what works for them doing whatever form of keto to Lion eating style to get better and lose weight. I so appreciate people who are NOT judgemental and are very successful like you are. As a general rule Canadians are kinder to each other so thank you for being a positive role model in this journey. Thanks Anita.

💝💖 oh Anita I love u, u r so sweet. I felt your "why". I wasn't sure where u were going when u said u need to have feeling behind your reason, u need to have a connection to it. My reason is to lose weight and be healthier. And by being healthier it is mentally and physically in my old age. But we (my husband and I) don't have that alzheimer history in our background...we just know it's just the 2 of us going into old age without any kids or younger family to help care 4 us. So we need 2 be as healthy as possible.

I see what is happening health wise with members of my own family. It breaks my heart to see the results of a lifetime of bad advice, giving in to the brain's cravings for carbs, and lack of knowledge about a different way of eating. We are so blessed to live in this time.

So eloquently spoken. Thank you, Anita for being real and honest and vulnerable. You are a breath of fresh air. I have also found it is key to "dig down deep and find your big why" to pursue and maintain your goal. My heart went out to you with your story about first losing your Father and then caring for your Mother and the struggle with her dementia. I am a nurse - so know how difficult that must have been for you. I'm so sorry. That's a tough road to travel. Thank you also for being gentle on yourself and others - for letting people know clearly this is your journey and they have theirs and it's flux situation. I love your idea of buying an empty notebook from the dollar store and keeping track of what you're doing/journal/food/etc. - I have been doing this since mid Oct. and it helps a lot. I also give myself stars, happy faces, care bear hugs along the edges of the entries - just for fun! Love your knowledge and videos! Thank you again and pet for Teddy and I believe you have another puppy ? Pippy?

Best Tuesday talk ever. You’re so inspiring, and your honesty and acceptance of our differences make your channel such a pleasant place to visit in the carnivore community. Sending you much love and best wishes for you and yours in 2023. 🎉

My why is health related. My son has type 1 diabetes, my grandmother had dementia, and my mother died from bowel and liver cancer. So to avoid all of these health issues I am persisting with this way of eating, despite my drs disapproval.

I react the same way as you about Alzheimer’s. That is my “Why”. I have been a caregiver for my mother in law who has Alzheimer’s for over 5 years. If I can avoid this disease by eating whole and healthy, that’s my why.

Thank you Anita. I wish I had known your mother. I say this because she must have been such a wise, moral, disciplined woman with such character. She raised you. And you, Anita are truly exceptional! Next time you chat with her above let her know how great a job she did raising you!!!
