I'll tell you something in my own personal opinion. Phil Collins was so multi-talented and an underrated musical genius. It shined in this song. And after watching this interview the fact that this was all done in one take is virtually astounding.

Wow, is there anything Phil Collins or Sting didn't appear on in the 80s? Amazed to know how much artists helped each other out

If all the recordings of Phil Colin's drums were to disappear, you know, through nuclear blast or something, No one is to blame has a record of every Phil Collins drum break he is famous for.

having Phil Collins on drums was a Brilliant idea especially in the 1980s. when a lot of the popular music was more Pop than Rock and Roll i graduated high school in1982 and myself and most of my closer freinds were all a big part of the 1970s Rock and Roll Movement with bands like PinkFloyd, Led Zepplin, The Eagles, and many others that spilled over into 80s music with bands like Journey, Triumph, AC/DC, VanHalen, and many others Howard Jones having Phil Collins play on this song was as brilliant as MichaelJacksonhaving Eddie VanHalen doing the guitar solo onBeat It it allowed. for many of us in my group of Rock and Rollers. to be allowed to listen to this genre without embarrassment among our freinds because we liked something from more of a dance or New Age Sound i personally was really into bands like The Cars, Joe Jackson, and The Knack sonHoward Jones wasn’t that big of a stretch. i also was in the middle of a Romance the year or Summer actually that No One Was To Blame was a tremendous hit. and my special Lady Freind and I usually had the local radio station playing all the time. and that song sort of became our Song because of our Romance and the amount of Airplay way before i really knew for a fact that PhilCollins was the Drummer. i knew it was him just by the style of the drums on the song from being a big Genesis Fan so many years before ! No One is T Blame also had the Lyrics that in so many ways described my Romance with that Woman because at that time in our lives we both had separate life’s on the complete opposite sides of the Country we lived in ? looking back on it i do wish it could had been different. but in reality it did allow us both to experience wonderful lives as well unfortunately life and Romance in particular is always all about the timing, perhaps the future is the right time for us ?mOnly time can tell there is one thing for sure. deep in my heart i know i love her. and always will

it's fashionable now to rip on phil and dismiss him. truth is none of these twats from today's day & age can hold a candle to his overall career in music. drummer, singer, session musician, songwriter, performer, solo artist, movie soundtrack contributor, grammy winner, producer, author, actor, philanthropist. good luck coming close.
