I beat this as a teenager over a decade ago without too much trouble. I had to search for a trick after replaying the game now. Spent almost 2 hours trying to beat it legitimately. Thanks for this video.

This is fixed in ;later patches & you now hit an invisible wall & it restarts you outside the blocked area.

This is actually one of my favorite missions, without cheating... This game is one of the best I've player, sure the AI sucks and blah blah blah, but you actually feel like a gangster during the depression era! Plus all the small details such as the car you had ruined cant drive what so ever and when you were driving the car from and to the track some guy was standing by the bridge tryin' to jump, I mean it's all so great.

I don't think it works anymore. But I have played this game several times and once more a week ago and I finished that racing missing without trouble. You just need to choose "Very easy" mode and turn "damage" off at the start of the race. "Very easy" mode is hidden behind "easy" mode, just in case you couldn't find it. Be patient since you have to complete five laps. Negotiate the bends at low speed and take care not to crash into anything since that will almost always cost you the race.

That's INGENIOUS! I have always hated this goddamn race! Too many circuits, and the opponents get suddenly Nitrous Oxide during the last circuit... this mission is a waste of time, so thanks for a glitch! :)

In the remake, it's down to 3 laps . Still difficult 🤣, done a hell lot of retries to get past chapter .
