I swear, they want to do the "successful middle-aged businesswoman"-thing but they're also deathly afraid of women over 35 so they can't make her be 40-50 and just go for 30 for some reason??

And then the writers always give them "character development" by having them fall in love with a guy and getting pregnant and being happy with being a mother. It's always the woman who doesn't want to become a mother become one, it's never her accomplishing something more in her career or being good in other career fields too. Or just marrying a guy who also doesn't want a baby and they're happy. No, she always turns into a housewife and that's a "good" character development and the only character development they ever get. As if the only purpose in every woman's life is a marriage and a baby, even those who wouldn't be good mothers.

Fr these movies always portray women in their 30s like some ancient grandma 😂 the younger guy thing reminds me of one FRIENDS episode, where the group is teasing Monica for dating a younger guy (she's 26 and the guy is like 22) and basically acting like she's a cougar.
