Garmin Instinct 2 Solar Charging Test | Forever power with the Sun

Testing solar charging of the Instinct 2 Solar in battery saver mode. Increased battery by 5% and 5 days in 2 hours and 42minutes. You could really power it "forever" with the sun. Just from time to time go into battery saver mode to charge it.

Test period:
Charging from 12:21 89% 26 days to 15:03 94% 31days so +5% and 5days.

I have the instinct 2x solar and I live in South of Italy. I've discovered that if I leave the watch under the sun.. the temperature is too high and stops charging. I've tested this while we had 45C outside.

Very interesting video. I have a question though if someone here knows. I'm considering buying Instinct 2 solar but I don't know if after 3 or 4 years even with solar charging the watch battery will be still in good condition and will not need replacement. I live in Greece so no solar "problems" here. Thank you.

What features would I need to turn off on the watch to never have to charge it manually (if wearing it every day outside and inside)?

Anyone know if the original Instinct has a way to show the battery level numerically? I've only seen it show when the USB cable is connected.

I have this watch...it s very good! Over all...nice! But...i can not understand...i split my time between austria and greece...in austria the watch doesn t charge very well, i mean solar charge! I was down to greece...my solar charge was powerfull! 100% 9 days straight!!!! I guess the sun hits different back to greece!!!

My instinct solar 1 charge 2% in 1 h. So in 2h and 30%, they should charge 5%. I think they have the same solar charge..

Isn't it dangerous to leave it direcly in sun for hours?
