THE CARS 'Let's Go' 1978 HQ

"Let's Go" was the first single from The Cars' second studio album Candy-O. It was released in 1978 on Elektra Records. The song was written by Ric Ocasek and features lead vocals by Cars bassist Benjamin Orr.

The opening crash of this heavy rocker is what ultimately makes the Candy-O album perfectly enjoyable! The Cars went down in history as one of the greatest new wave syncro-pop bands of all time!

I grew up in the '80's, and I love The Cars: from the '70's, or '80's: especially this 1978 classic! I was born in 1978, so I like this song, that much more! Unfortunately, sadly, the very talented Benjamin Orr, is no longer with us. 😢😢. I remember listening to Retro Pop Reunion, with Joe Cortez, when it used to be on:
B 106.7 WTCB, in Columbia, SC ( actually in suburban Cacey), when Joe Cortez was mentioning Benjamin Orr passing away from I believe pancreatic cancer, in 2001. That's the same year, that we lost Robert Palmer. 2001 was a sad year in music history: the loss of at least 2 talented rock musicians. RIP both Benjamin Orr, and Robert Palmer: both sadly missed.
