A blockbuster development in the murders of two teenage girls from rural Delphi, Indiana. Liberty German and Abigail Williams were brutally murdered in the middle of the day while on a hike in 2017.

Their murders have gone unsolved despite a plethora of evidence, including video and audio of the man believed to be their killer.

Now, nearly 6 years into the investigation an arrest has been made, but police are still holding a lot of information back. Why?

It's weird how in life one minute you're worried about your job and your vacations and getting the kids to school on time and just everyday life things and then the next minute your life is dedicated to finding your babies killer and none of the rest of that stuff really even matters anymore and then you bury yourself into a so deep when it's over with you have forgotten how to live like a regular person again... I feel so bad for these parents and grandparents as a parent myself and I hope this guy gets everything that he deserves one way or another because there wasn't just two victims in this.

The part that scares me the most is this, people who murder, don't usually commit a double murder as their first crime. That being said, he has either committed many more murders of young girls or he had help. Either way, both are so horrific, scarey, nightmares...my mind just can't grasp this kind of horror. Hope my thoughts are wrong and that he did it by himself and it was his first time.

Those girls would be like 20 yrs old now. Stole so much from this family. My heart goes out to the family. People don’t ever really get over something like this, it changes a person

The police are quiet for a reason. As a former Detective we had a saying. The clean get cleaner and the dirty get more dirty. This is far from over. There is alot more to this story.

It is horrible how a horrendous act like this crime will derail the lives of so many people. I hope the loved ones can finally start to grieve and heal.

Delphi did the RIGHT thing keeping this case tight to the vest even though everyone was bashing them as if they had no idea what they were doing. I believed ALL ALONG that the "Leigh Kerr" was REAL and TRUE, and I believe that they had a suspect all along but just didn't have what they needed to pin his ass! Like they've always said "You want to know what we know, and one day you will!" -to the BG. And now he KNOWS! I believe he was trying to seek information over the years, and I believe he has kept an eye on this all along. TODAY IS THE DAY, and now you know what they know! Great job Delphi!!! 🙏 Amen, Justice to Abby & Libby!

I came across this case a little over a year ago on YouTube and became obsessed with it watching every video there is to watch. So glad there is progress being made thank you Doug Carter and the rest of law enforcement. Been watching all the way from Maine

I was so glad to hear that finally someone is going to be held accountable for what happened to those two young girls. The fact they had the sense to video him when they must have been so scared shows what amazing girls these were. The families have been so strong. Amazing people who have finally got a name of the monster.

One of the most salient comments I’ve heard on this case and it’s international horror was that it contains mythic elements -2 children on the verge of maturity venture out, into the woods across a bridge and meet with evil. It’s what fairy tales everywhere hint at, but rescue us from. As deeply as we relate to these girls, we have failed them. And their story must prevail.

I’m a born and bread Hoosier and I was temporarily living back in IN when this tragedy occurred and am so grateful for the IN State Police and the Carroll Co Sheriff Department for their unending investigation into the murders of these two young girls. Thank you for uploading this video!

One thing I do have to say is that the HLN Trial Correspondent, Jean Casarez is dead wrong about police not caring or keeping the families in their minds while working cases lately. I’ve watched hundreds of investigative shows including Dateline, 20/20, 48 Hours, almost everything on ID and Oxygen and I’ve rarely, if ever seen police act in that way unless they are keeping things close to the vest for good reason and where the families get understandably upset because the police can’t release the info for the exact reasons mentioned on the program, to not compromise the evidence for the trial. Just watch Cold Case on Oxygen and tell me they don’t care. I find Casarez’s comment incomprehensible. Here’s what she said in part,
“…because more and more you’re seeing that in some respects, law enforcement doesn’t consider the victims anymore. They just start doing what they want to do in the last several decades.” That’s hogwash! Law enforcement is under attack from the media left and right. Detectives who work homicides bear a heavy burden to solve cases. Has the game changed? You betcha! New forensic technology has changed it so much but that’s not kept cops from notifying victims families. If anything, they’ve been able to get them answers more quickly.

I've been following this case for a long time for some reason. A lot of cases stuck to me and this is one of them. Crazy how we're getting a breakthrough after 5-6 years!

I know this feeling, when I got justice for my son about 4 yrs after his death, I was just like Libby’s grandmother, I remember now what do I do ? I just hope they watch this person in jail that he doesn’t take his life . I have this feeling he is going to do that 😢
